Running and sailing have both been a big part of my life as far as I can remember. We learnt to sail as kids and have since been on many family holidays on boats, as well as spending many hours racing in the Carrick Roads at home in Cornwall.

I also love to run and after completing a couple of road marathons/half marathons and feel its definitely now time to start hitting the trials and mountains!

My dad was very keen to enter a team on our family yacht Herbie after completing the race a few years ago on a friend's boat. I love adventure so was up for it straight away! Aims for the race are to finish (hopefully having run up one or two mountains) and for everyone on board to leave with a smile!

Andrew Whitaker:  Sailor

Occupation: Property Advisor

Age: 54

Nationality: British

Sailed dinghies from 12, moved to windsurfing and then back to dinghies and then bigger boats. Raced mainly across the south coast, from Cowes, Dartmouth and Falmouth week with varying degrees of success!

Hardest fought winning series was in Herbie, winning the class in Falmouth Week in 2018 with the skipper and brother, Tim.

Encouraged by my brother following his previous experience and with fit young athletes to "do the hard work" hopefully we will be competitive!

I have completed a number of ultras, including the Wendover Woods 50 miler (3000+ m elevation) and a self supported 60 mile run on the South Downs Way last summer. However, I have limited experience of sailing yachts having mainly sailed Dart 16s, so will be a challenge for me!

Bee's family have spearheaded this effort, but I am always keen for a challenge! It brings together running and adventure!
