Sailing Experience: lots of sailing and racing in dinghies, especially the Osprey, Dart 18 catamarans   and cruisers, recently outgrowing a J24 and moving on to Aurora.

​

I’ve been wanting to do this race for over 30 years and when John and Claudio asked if we were interested in the 3PYR after Will, Charlie and I had come back from Cork Week last year it was an emphatic yes.

David (Charlie) Charles

Occupation: Retired IT Professional

David has been sailing and racing since childhood. He has competed in many dinghy national championships, in classes such as the Mirror Dinghy, National 18ft, Osprey, Dart 18, F18, F20 and Flying Dutchman.  He has also competed in cruiser racing events at home and abroad, and worked for two seasons as a delivery and charter skipper in the Mediterranean.

Will Harrison

Occupation: University Lecturer

Age: 38

Over 20 years sailing experience, from dinghies to cruisers, including doing an Atlantic crossing in 2001.  Sail in Swansea Yacht and Sub-Aqua Club (SYSAC) cruiser races whenever possible and participated in the Cork Week 2016 regatta with the same sailing team. Most at home when running around the foredeck. Also, I am a keen surfer and open water swimmer.

Over 20 years sailing experience, from Flying Dutchman to bareboat charters, including an Atlantic crossing in 2000. A keen water polo player for 30 years, I have been running trail marathons for the last 5 years.
