Chris Ross – Skipper
Occupation: Company Director
Age: 58
Gender: Male
Nationality: English

First ventured out onto the water in his teens as a keen water skier, Chris moved up through a series of motor boats, the last of which, an Aquastar 38 took him and his family on extended summer UK cruises where a lot of navigational experience was gained. Always with the aim of converting to sail he's enjoyed many passages, a lot in the dead of night, to places he didn't even know existed. Until now it's fair to say he's a cruiser not a racer so clearly this race will be a baptism fire!

David Holbourn - Crew
Occupation: Director
Age: 60
Gender: Male
Nationality: British

I have now completed over 14,500 sea miles in my own boat pottering up and down the west coast of UK. I have competed twice in the Three Peaks Yacht Race before in my own boat , in 2011 and 2013. It is strange but both these years the weather was a bit robust at the start then followed by periods of rowing.

Hopefully this year it will be good winds all the way..
Bring it on..

Team Comment; Five Crew, Two Hulls, One Will to Win, this will be the skipper's first 3YPR however thankfully for him the rest of the "Peaky Blinders" team have competed at least once before. Chris moved from motor boats (yes I know) to sailing in 2001 when he became the owner of a Prout 45 Catamaran on which he cruised the UK, Channel Islands and France with his wife and two children. The Prout had to go in 2011 leaving him boatless until along came Ruby Dawn, an R400, in 2016, which was slimmer lighter and generally a bit quicker. Hopefully she will serve us well in this years edition.
