The Intrepid Misfits are so named due to our sense of adventure (Intrepid) and our team selection procedures, which are loosely based on "The Dirty Dozen" (Misfits).
John Hart – Skipper

This will be John's 3rd TPYR, having Skippered BUMPie and led the Misfits in 2013 and 2014. John has extensive racing experience in UK waters and he must be thanked for crewing his yacht with those of us who dreamed of the TPYR but hadn't a team of our own!

You may have seen Gary before in and around the TPYR; he has been the mainstay of the delivery crew two years in a row. He has decided to join us for the race proper this year, and we are very glad to have his watchful eye on the tiller.

Ex-forces and now working in the private sector, Chris has extensive crewing expereince both in the UK and in blue water sailing. He also is our back up runner, and has been putting in some mountain hours and time in the gym just in case our runners get broken on this rather mad 4/5 day event.

This is Jason's 2nd TPYR having helped form the original team in 2013. This year he has the benefit of having done each of the running routes at least twice before, as well as several FRA events, Tough Guy, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, among others since taking up fell running in 2012.
Runner - Nick Pearce

Nick is a veteran fell runner and rather epic road runner. Too many honours to name, but briefly from the last couple of years: V60 2nd pace in English Championships, V60 winner Yorkshire Three Peaks, V60 3rd Manchester Marathon and Ilkley Harriers Harrier of the month. Nick is also father/husband to a family of talented fell runners.
We would also like to thank Nic, Mark and David who are acting as shore-crew for the first leg of the race and helping to deliver Jason and Chris to Barmouth!
