Team Krishna is a group of childhood friends all turning 40 this year.

We entered the competition in memory of our good friend Yoav (Krishna) Nir who gave away to cancer at age 27.

Along with us, Yoav had joined Sea-Scouts Haifa as a young cadet and had spent many hours sailing on a variety of boats and yachts. His father, Captain Yehuda Nir taught him the love of the sea and after Yoav’s death and in his memory, donated a sailing boat carrying his name for the young Sea Scouts cadets.

Along side to his love for the sea, Yoav had also become one of the pioneers at a new sport that was emerging at the time - free climbing. Yoav had cultivated this field in Israel and was well recognized within the international climbing community. 

To celebrate our 40th birthday and in memory of Yoav we had searched for an extreme competition that combined sailing and climbing and finally came across the Three Peaks Yacht Race.

We plan on showing that age 40 is the new 30… or so they say …and to prove that if you put your mind and will together you can succeed in anything you choose to do.
