The Three Peaks Yacht Race
Whitehaven Marina 9 a.m.
Nine boats have now arrived at Whitehaven and their runners have set off for the cycle and climb of Scafell. The overcast weather conditions on Scafell have been ideal for the runners and the leading teams, EADS Innovations and The Dockers, have completed the Scafell run and are on their way back to Whitehaven. They should be back in plenty of time to leave on the morning tide for the next leg to Scotland.
The next group, Madam Wen, Team Krishna (who are now out of the race but continuing to Whitehaven) and Maracuja are about 20 miles off Whitehaven travelling in light winds at speeds up to 4 knots. At this rate they can expect to arrive here at the Marina this afternoon
