There are no chandlers in Barmouth town. Birmingham Garage, across from the harbour, tel: 01341 280644, carries some stainless bolts, shackles, fenders, etc. The nearest chandlers is in Porthmadog, approx. 20 miles north of Barmouth, Glaslyn Marine tel: 01766 513545. Alternatively there are chandlers at Pwllheli, Firmhelm, 01758 612251, and Partingtons (look under Links on the website). You can catch a local train to both Porthmadog and Pwllheli. Pwllheli is about an hour by car from Barmouth.
Sail repairs are also available at Pwllheli, JKA Sailmakers, tel: 01758 613266. I’ve used these and found their prices and service good. But you know sods law?
There are no facilities in Barmouth for taking passport size photographs, needed for the Tillman Trophy, so you’ll need to bring them with you.
There are many local B&Bs; but generally accommodation is available through the local Tourist Information office, sited at the railway station, tel: 01341 280787.
There is a Co-op, Iceland and large Spar for provisions.

Breaking news: there is a place to have a photograph taken - the local chemist in the centre of the town. Well up the road and on the right.
